چکیده
Abstract Background Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was announced in early December 2019. The pandemic situation is declared. This study aimed to evaluate the role of biomarkers estimating severity and predicting prognosis COVID-19. Results A total 116 confirmed patients were included this study. evaluated clinically. assessed. measured calculated laboratory tests done. primary outcome 30-day mortality. Patients assigned severe (14.7%) non-severe (85.3%) groups. At IL-6 level 32.3 pg/mL (the highest Youden’s index = 0.77), can differentiate from with 82.4% sensitivity 94.4% specificity. predict [odds ratio 87.7 (95% CI 18.9-408.2) ( P < 0.0001)]. After adjustment significant clinical parameters, had an adjusted odds 30.8 1.1-728.3) 0.046). high CRP/albumin > 11.4 associated COVID-19 mortality [hazard 59.9 7.4–488.3) High hazard 26.5 2.6-270.7) after age presence co-morbidities 0.006). Conclusion could effectively discriminate severity. independent risk factor for rate seem be valuable evaluating COVID-19, respectively.

The Value of Interleukin-8 and Interleukin-6 in Cervical Secretions as Predictors of Preterm Delivery
Background and Objective: Preterm birth occurs in 8% to 11% of all pregnancies and is responsible for 75% to 80% of all neonatal deaths. Cytokines may be involved in the etiology of preterm birth through their stimulation of prostaglandin synthesis. Cytokines may be released intocervicovaginal fluid during the breakdown of the chorio-decidual adhesion or from an inflammatory reactio...

متن کاملInterleukin-6 and C-reactive protein as predictors of cognitive decline in late midlife
OBJECTIVE Peripheral inflammatory markers are elevated in patients with dementia. In order to assess their etiologic role, we examined whether interleukin-6 (IL-6) and C-reactive protein (CRP) measured in midlife predict concurrently assessed cognition and subsequent cognitive decline. METHODS Mean value of IL-6 and CRP, assessed on 5,217 persons (27.9% women) in 1991-1993 and 1997-1999 in th...
